Announcing A Small Change At firstalarmstrength.com

Now that I’m a dad with 2 kids, a full-time job and I like to keep my house and such on the positive side of shambles, I haven’t made much time to write and post things on the interwebs. For free.

My brain has been all over the place when I have sat down to write and I haven’t been able to complete a worthwhile blog post.

I use my bullet journal to write down random thoughts throughout the day, mostly fitness related, just to get them out of my head to use for later. The BuJo community calls this a “brain dump”.

Problem is, my ability to write has been limited lately and my brain dumps haven’t amounted to much.

Recently I was reading a post from Bryan Krahn called Five Boner Friday, where he shares 5 tips and a few qualifying sentences rather than writing a full dissertation. I found this refreshing and it was nice to blow through a bunch of nuggets of info quickly. Almost like your buddy dropping a few pieces of gold while shooting the shit over a beer. I thought this might be a good way to go about getting some writing done for this here blog.

Full disclosure: this happened when I was residing on my throne, dropping the kids off at the pool. You’re reading this while you’re pooping so don’t tell me it gross. Everybody poops. And we all read on the toilet these days.

Announcing: First Alarm Dump Reads

For the foreseeable future I’ll likely be dropping a few hints, hopefully helpful, rather than a 1200 word story and if need-be I will elaborate on them in a deep-dive at a later date.

The name comes from the location of the source material: my bullet journal brain dump, curated into like-topics and the fact you’re probably going to read it while you poop.
